Tasting Notes

Super rich, intense cassis and cherry, rich espresso grounds, dark cacao nibs, French chocolate truffles and pain au chocolat, with a hint of pipe tobacco.

Palate Vibrant, poppin' acid backbone, lean and linear with a strong tannin structure, graphite and iron, long peppers, raspberry and kirsch intensity carrying a long, lingering finish.

Critic Reviews
  • “The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve comes from the ONX Estate Vineyard in the Templeton Gap AVA and spent 20 months in new barrels. As with the other Bordeaux variety releases here, it has some classic herbal, green nuances yet stays ripe and classically styled. Cassis, blackberries, classy oak, chocolate, and leafy green herbs all define the aromatics, and it's medium to full-bodied on the palate, with lots of sweet fruit, some firmer tannins, and a good finish. A big, ripe Cabernet Sauvignon, it’s going to benefit from a year or three of bottle age and evolve nicely over the following decade.”
