Tasting Notes
The Blanc de Franc is inspired by Capanna's Blanc de Sangiovese, interpreted through our love for Cabernet Franc. The goal is to take a variety known for big texture and not-so-subtle flavors and guide it into a crisp, refreshing, aromatic white wine that still stays true to its variety. With the help of grower Ken Eckert, we feel we've succeeded.
Nose:Orange creamsicle — Meyer lemon, Buddha's Palm citron, orange blossom, and vanilla.
Palate:The citrus theme continues on the palate, with ripe loquat and citron pushing the wine down the center of the tongue like a vervy bolt of lightning — tension, energy, a storm of flavor locked, loaded, and ready to be released. As the initial rush settles, a calming, oily finish fans out to cover the tongue, leaving a lingering, mouthwatering finish that begs for another sip, with just the tiniest notes of marjoram and dried herbs.
