“Black cherry, leather, loamy earth, and some herbal, chocolaty notes all emerge from the 2023 Le Chatelet Vineyard, a fun wine in the lineup and from Saint-Emilion. Based on 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc from the clay and limestone soils of the plateau and aged 18 months in 50% new and 50% once-used French oak, it's medium to full-bodied, nicely balanced, with ripe yet building and firmer tannins and a great finish. Drink 2026-2036.”
