Tasting Notes
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc and 25% Merlot from the organically farmed G2N Vineyard in the Willow Creek District. Four separate lots — Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon in new and in neutral oak, and Cabernet Franc — assembled for lift rather than weight. At 14.1% it is the most immediately drinkable wine in the Maison Mittal cellar, and the hardest to put down.

Color:Deep garnet with purple hues

Nose:Bright, fresh and expressive red fruit — Rainier cherry, raspberry, and an exotic top note of dragon fruit and rambutan. Underneath, blueberry, plum and morello cherry pull the fruit darker. High-toned Kona peaberry coffee runs through the whole of it, with a savoury, almost umami hint of fresh morel.

Palate:An acid pop lands in the centre of the palate and radiates outward. The mid-palate is quick, then widens into a very full finish of oak, vanilla and bakery spice — a concha coming out of the panadería oven first thing in the morning. Cherry returns at the end, and tense acidity over fine-grained tannin leaves you thirsting for the next sip.
