Secret Craving is inspired by Food, the KamaSutra Art of Culinary Design. Featuring Bravo Top Chef, Dakota Weiss from the W Hotel in Westwood, California.
This blend is truly a wine made for and inspired by its honorary. Hints of tart cranberries, black currant, and cherries immediately burst from the glass as its poured. And much like any scent from Chef Weiss' kitchen, these are soon followed by a string of even more enticing, exotic aromas like coriander and long pepper.
On the palate, the dark fruit from the wine's Syrah component shine through, displaying mouth watering flavors of Damson plum and acai. The structure of the wine is well balanced, with fine grained tannins intricately woven into a pleasant, lingering finish.
This rendition of Secret Craving tantalizingly beckons up front, is engaging and provocative on the palate, and decadent on the finish...which could be said to be a fair assessment of any of Chef's artfully inspired creations. Bon appetit!
Harvested between September 15 and October 21, 2014, the lots for the 2014 Secret Craving were fermented and macerated on skins for 14 to 22 days.
